Supporting Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

At Project LUNI, we advocate for and practice Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as an effective method to break the cycle of cat overpopulation and enhance their well-being. It’s well-established that the conventional approach of removing and euthanising outdoor cats, historically pursued by animal control, is both cruel and ineffective. In contrast, TNR consistently yields better outcomes while being far less inhumane.

Following their sterilisation and recuperation, cats are returned to the specific location where they were trapped, back to the care of the individual who discovered them or their regular feeder. As part of the process, a small portion of the cat’s left ear is surgically removed while under anesthesia for sterilisation, a universally recognized indicator that the cat has been sterilised.

Moreover, we ensure each cat is microchipped. In the event they are captured and taken to SPCA or AVS, the microchip provides a means to identify and reunite the cat with its feeder, preventing unnecessary stress for the cat and ensuring a swift return to its familiar surroundings.

We have huge costs every month and your donation will go a long way to help the cats & kittens in these areas:

  • Fostering, socialising and rehoming of kittens and abandoned cats
  • Daily responsible feeding of stray and community cats
  • Medical care for injured and sick street cats
  • Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)

Please consider a monthly recurring donation so we can continue our rescue efforts.
